Days after Reliance secretly launched the web version of its content platform, JioCinema, it has now introduced the same for its Live TV watching platform, Reliance JioTV.
The Jio users have been demanding the web version of Jio TV for some time now as it gives them access to content on their laptops and computers. Finally, Reliance Jio responded to its customers’ requests and now, the users can access all the channels on http://jiotv.com/, like they do on their mobile app. Also, the web interface is pretty much similar to the interface of the JioTV application for Android.
The channels are displayed in a line-based interface, and the best part is you can toggle between SD and HD channels.
In order to watch the content on JioTV web version, the users will have to log in with their Jio account, as in the case of JioCinema. However, the only catch here is that only the users with a Jio 4G SIM card will be allowed to watch the content. You can log in with your Jio account by heading over to the account section present at the top right corner. Currently, JioTV offers more than 550 Live TV channels which makes it the leading service when compared to other content providers services such as Airtel TV, Vodafone Play, and Idea Movies & TV.
It currently offers as many as 8 business news channels, 41 devotional channels, 106 entertainment channels, 34 infotainment channels, 26 kids Channels, 14 lifestyle channels, 44 movie channels, 40 music channels, 174 news channels and 21 sports channels. As of now, the service is totally free for all the Jio users and these channels can also be streamed on a broadband connection, as long as the user has a Jio ID to log in.
The web version of JioTV has the content in same categories- Entertainment, Movies, Kids, Sports, Lifestyle, Infotainment, Religious, News, Music, Regional, Devotional, Business News, and in same languages too- Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali, English, Malayalam, Tamil, Gujarati, Odia, Telugu, Bhojpuri, Kannada, Assamese, Nepali, French.
With this move, Reliance Jio is allowing its customers to watch online content anywhere. Also, users can access the website in any mobile browser as well. This essentially removes the hassle of downloading the application to watch the content.
